Patrick
T. Harker, Dean of The Wharton School
Dear Wharton Alumni:
I am pleased to invite you to join me in attending the Wharton
Global Alumni Forums in 2004, in Moscow, Shanghai and Mexico
City.
The Forums, which were previously known as the Regional
Alumni Meetings, have been renamed to better reflect the
true nature of the global Wharton audience. Our alumni no
longer do business simply on a regional basis. They go where
the opportunities are most rewarding, and constantly expand
the geographical dimensions of their businesses.
We want to make graduates from every country in the world
feel welcome at all the Wharton Alumni Global Forums. We
plan to facilitate the professional and personal interaction
of our alumni world-wide in every way possible. In an effort
to accomplish this goal, Peter Degnan, Wharton's Director
of Career Management, plans to hold open forums in each city
to which all alumni would be invited to learn about new and
improved career services for Wharton graduates.
At each location, local organizing committees under the
leadership of senior alumni have planned professionally stimulating
and personally rewarding activities, including distinguished
keynote speakers, lively panel discussions, intriguing cultural
excursions, and relaxed social activities.
I will attend each of the Wharton Alumni Global Forums in
2004, and I anticipate that the knowledge I gain will be
both cumulative and unique. I hope that many of you will
join me in attending two or even all three Forums. A variety
of Wharton professors will join us in each location, giving
you additional opportunities to meet with your former teachers
and to hear about the latest thinking at Wharton on important
global issues.
I look forward to working with you to make the global network
of Wharton alumni even more valuable.
Sincerely,
Patrick T. Harker

Dear Wharton Graduates Worldwide:
On behalf of your fellow alumni in Shanghai, I am pleased
to invite you to
join us for the Wharton Global Alumni Forum scheduled
here for June
3-6, 2004.
Since being
awarded the honor of hosting this meeting, the Organizing
Committee has been working to create an event that will be
meaningful, educational, and fun. I hope that this website
will communicate to you both our enthusiasm for this meeting
and the substance of an intriguing event.
When you come to Shanghai in June, you will have many chances
to act on the theme of this year's meeting, which is "Connecting".
We expect hundreds of alumni from around the world to participate,
and we will provide you with ample time to meet your classmates
and make new friends.
In addition, we have scheduled as speakers some of the world's
most informed, interesting and articulate individuals to
talk about China's short-, medium- and long-term futures.
Whether you are interested in investing in China, visiting
China, or just learning more about China, this will be a
unique opportunity to achieve your objectives.
As this website will also reveal, we have arranged many
opportunities for pre- or post-meeting tourism in China.
I hope that you will come early or stay late to explore this
vast country.
You are warmly welcome in Shanghai. I look forward to seeing
you and to extending my personal greetings to you.
Sincerely,
Phillip Y. Wu, WG'95
President, Wharton Club of Shanghai
