The Shanghai Global Alumni Forum Raffle

We are pleased to announce the Shanghai Global Alumni Forum Raffle in Shanghai on June 4-5, 2004.

A raffle is a game of chance, in which contestants purchase tickets which give them opportunities to win excellent prizes. No action is required by the contestants other than the purchase of the tickets, but you must be present at the dinner on Saturday night, June 5th, in order to win a prize.

Starting on Friday evening, June 4th at the Welcome Dinner, all participants will have an opportunity to purchase as many tickets as desired at a cost of RMB100 each. The more tickets you purchase, the greater your chances of winning one of the prizes. You will be able to purchase tickets at any time between Friday evening and Saturday evening. On Saturday evening, after the dinner, the winners will be selected at random and announced immediately. Some of the prizes that will be awarded on Saturday evening are:

  • Tuition at a Wharton Executive Education Program
  • Tuition at an INSEAD Executive Education Program
  • Two First Class tickets anywhere in the Dragonair system
  • Six Business Class tickets anywhere in the Dragonair system
  • A golf weekend for two on Cheju Island in Korea
  • Two cases of fine French Bordeaux donated by Montrose Food & Wine International
  • Mongolian sketch VI (charcoal on paper) by celebrated artist Liu Jian
  • 3 wine coolers, donated by Haier Group
  • 3 Chinese garments, donated by Brilliance Group

These prizes have all been donated by Wharton graduates and friends of Wharton. New prizes are being added weekly, so be sure to revisit this page again to learn about additions.

All proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the Shanghai Charity Foundation, a private, not-for-profit foundation established in 1994. The school will work with the foundation's chairman to identify a specific project with which to associate the proceeds of the raffle.
